Preschool Speech and Language Referral (Ages 3-5 years)

  • The earlier that a child is identified and can receive effective speech and language intervention, the greater likelihood of his/her success in school. 

    If you have concerns about the speech and/or language development of your preschool child (ages 3-5), you can contact the Arlington Central School District Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE). The evaluation will be done at no cost to you.  

    To start the evaluation process, write a letter to the Committee on Preschool Special Education.  In the letter you must include the following: 

    1. Child's full name and date of birth
    2. Parent's names, address, and contact phone number
    3. Statement of concerns-speech-language, academic readiness, fine motor
    4. Type of evaluation that you are requesting (speech and/or language evaluation)
