• Children's Lit


    The focus of this course is on reading and analyzing literature written for children and studying the evolution of the genre.  You will learn the characteristics of quality children's literature and read a vast array of primary texts including short stories, poetry, myths & legends, fairy tales, and novels.  In this class we will engage in a substantial amount of reading in order to have a vast knowledge of children's literature and a strong understanding of the role it plays in developing deep interests and solid habits in reading. 

Materials

  • The materials you will need for class are:

    1. a notebook and folder 
    2. blue or black pens and pencils
